Lorandite is monoclinic and form bipyramidal crystals of a ruby-red color, a little darker than realgar, and with diamantine brightness. It is characterized by a perfect exfoliation, which can serve to differentiate it from realgar.
It’s usually associated to realgar, hutchinsonite, imhofite and orpiment.
